Mass Management
Government accreditation for our mass management system allows Harris Refrigerated to load tri-axle trailers with road friendly suspensions to an increased mass limit, and provides us with endorsement that allows greater flexibility from enforcement agencies and less interference from on road checks, ultimately saving us time on the road.
Occupational Health and Safety, Inductions & Training
The philosophy of the directors is that the safety of our employees is paramount. Our quality and driver manuals combined with our induction program, have a strong focus on safe operating procedures and hazard management practices.
New drivers participate in an intensive induction program and a graduated introduction to long distance operations based on a managed trip and distance log.
Harris Refrigerated places great emphasis on fatigue management.
We simply will not compromise the safety of our employees or the public.
Drivers are inducted and trained in personal fatigue management, and the company also takes measures to ensure that rostering is properly managed.
The management of our driving team is controlled to ensure that adequate and sufficient periods of rest and sleep are provided. Drivers undertake a Commercial Drivers Health Assessment and bi-annual health checks.
